Backwoods BBQ & Steak House - Review

The Inland Empire's Newest Kickback Sunday Brunch
One Inland Empire restaurant location has seen many incarnations over the last several years. None of those enterprises survived, but that may be about to change.

Sunday brunch restaurant options in the Inland Empire have been limited, and many will welcome the launch of a new, easily accessible and enjoyable buffet brunch. Unique in size and food selections, this brunch has a style all its own.

Corona, CA Welcomes Backwoods BBQ & Steak House

In October of 2008, Backwoods BBQ & Steak House settled into 370 North McKinley Street in Corona, CA. In addition to their regular mesquite-smoked Texas style BBQ fare, they’ve recently added a tidy little Sunday Brunch buffet at the tidy little price of $12.95.

This buffet is petite by traditional buffet standards, no skirted tables groaning under the weight of dozens of choices, but the old adage, good things come in small packages,’ is aptly applied here.

Sunday Brunch Food Selections

Patrons can choose from cooked-to-order omelets and farm fresh eggs prepared any style, rich smoky bacon, tavern ham, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, parmesan-cheesy Backwoods potatoes and amazingly tasty cinnamon pancakes made from the family recipe of chef Rich Brown. The brunch also includes a salad bar, muffins, soups, tri-tip chili, beans, corn and the kind of “I want seconds” potato salad and coleslaw that Mom used to make for the family picnic. There is also a Mesquite BBQ selection that changes from week to week which may include rib tips or kielbasa or chicken or another barbequed meat. Two glasses of champagne comes with each adult brunch. No dessert yet, but Chef Brown says a dessert dish is coming soon.
Sunday Brunch is served from 9:00am to 1:00pm, and after 11:00am, menu ordering is also an option. Plus, unique only to Backwoods is a special offer between the hours of 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. During those two hours, entree orders come with a bonus. For those who choose a steak or pork or any other menu item, unlimited visits to the brunch buffet are included in the entree price. That's a rare and delicious deal.

Backwoods BBQ & Steak House Offers a Casual Ambiance

The relaxed, dressed-down, sawdust and peanut shell
atmosphere makes Backwoods a great place to rejuvenate
after a late Saturday night. Inside dining or dining on the heated
patio is available. This is a welcome spot to dine, read the
Sunday paper, listen to the music or watch the action on
large screen TVs. Sunday Brunch at Backwoods is like a comfy,
lazy meal at home, without the cooking and the cleaning up.

JoHannes Vander Kallen meets guests at the front door,
and like a favorite uncle who’s hosting the family reunion, he’s
a man who clearly wants everyone’s time at Backwoods to be full of smiles.
